DULL NITE...
On the other hand, Telematch was ok. There were a few mishaps, such as no committee members were present in IMU at least direct the juniors to the field, and that the competing teams in different stations seems to be the same ones. It's a waste that the groups can't compete with all other groups in all the different stations, but have to compete with the same group again and again. Must have been some technical problem I guess. The attendance of seniors this time was unusually few too. But it is good to see the juniors have loosen up a lot since the 1st day of orientation! They seemed to have lots of fun too!
It's sad that I can't attend the BBQ Nite that officially ends the orientation, but I'm glad that I've throughoutly enjoyed myself for the whole orientation event. The one thing that seriously need improvement is the coordination within the commitees, which was really awful for the orientation this time around. And I would prefer if the orientation is more fun and less ragging. There's 1 game in the telematch that was actually really fun!!! Till the next orientation! ;)

THERE SHE BLOWS...
Case #1: Driving back from dad's factory in the afternoon. Hit the butt of a Satria when it braked all of a sudden while I was driving too fast to stop in time. No injuries, but lost quite a lot of $$...
Case #2: Left my Marieb on top of my dad's car's bunk and went playing with the dog. Got a bit carried away and dad drove his car to pick us up at the corner of the factory where the dog is chained. It wasn't till we're out of the factory that I realized I haven't took in the textbook... So guys, whenever u see a certain 6th edition Marieb that is in a rather bad condition in the library at IMU... Go figure...
Case #3: Wat that juz happened...
Supposed to follow behind my mum's car back home, when I suddenly feel like playing with the dog (yea, the same one). Drove to the corner of the factory and play with it for awhile, when I noticed behind me that my mum is driving out of the factory. Knowing that she must have thought that I've disobeyed her and left all by myself, I hurriedly reversed my car to catch up with her. Then bang! my car hit something, but I juz can't figured out wat izzit since I can't see wat I've hit from the side mirrors. It wasn't until when I'm close to the gate till I noticed there are a few flat pieces of metal on the ground... Dang!
Anyway, I drove on... till I heard a weird sound coming from the back of my car. Fearing the worst (the bumper has dropped off or something), I stopped my car at the roadside to take a look... The tyre at the rear left of my car was totally flattened!!! It even came off partially from the steel ring! Argh... How am I going to drive to IMU tomorrow to watch the Treasure Hunt?! Man...
Called my mum, got a bad scolding from her. Called my dad (since I'm pretty close to the factory) to see wat we can do. Can't really fixed up the spare tyre since there's no suitable spanner in my car, and so we decided to drive back to the factory, leave the car there, and returned home in my dad's car together. Get a mechanic to fixed the tyre tomorrow. Sigh... Well, hope I still can make it for Treasure Hunt tomorrow...

THE PERSISTENT STRAIN
Few of my batchmates kept on entering that place to ask for the IMCC, and even the whole group, to follow them out, without giving them any reasons. At 1st, Eve told asked them nicely to excuse them, since they're in a discussion now. They left peacefully. Fine. But things dun juz stop there. They kept coming in to ask for the IMCC to follow them out, using different ppl this time, though all of them are in the same gang. Eve can't tahan them and kena them badly... There's when I started to feel a bit uneasy...
Then, I joined Matt and Elena for a game of Settlers at the student lounge, and Jody was there to watch. A group of juniors approached Jody later for their signature hunt, and Jody kindly agreed to sign for them juz by listening to their cheer. And that's when that gang came in. After they got the signature, the gang ordered them to stand in a row in front of them, and I dun paid much attention to wat happened next, for I was really angry by then. I really hated their tone when they talked to the juniors, as if they are their superiors or something. I thought that this kinf of behavior has extinct, but I guess I'm wrong... A whole new generation of them has sprouted out of nowhere...
And all this while I thought that this orientation is gonna be fun and free of those horrors I experienced during my orientation... Thing are gonna get worse tomorrow during the treasure hunt tomorrow, that I'm sure of... I'll see wat I can do to help those poor juniors...
EDWARD SCISSORHANDS
Finally got to watch Edward Scissorhands after years of searching. I Know that it was aired quite a lot of time in tht TV b4, but somehow I always missed it. Until I bought the DVD today!
Well, now that I've finished watching it, here's the conclusion: I'm very impressed, yet very disappointed of it at the same time. Johnny Depp's performance is superb. I have lots of respect towards him as an actor, but now, I'm officially his fan!!! His character dun talk much in the movie, and when he did, it is mostly juz a few sylables. Yet, the emotion he conveyed thru how he moves his scissor hands and facial expression is juz marvellous. Oh and kudos to Tim Burton for coming up with such an interesting character as Edward Scissorhands! The "feel" of the movie is quite decent too, kinda like a modern fairy tale. The inhabitants of the small town are quite interesting too, with all their manipulation and hypocrisy.
I really enjoyed the first two third of the movie... but when the climax is approaching, a sense of deja vu engulfed me. Edward, after he is wrongly accused and chased for injuring a few of the inhabitants, escaped to his inventor's mansion on the hill. The townpeople then chased him all the way to the mansion, while his love and the villain entered the mansion 1st. A confrontation occured, and the villain is killed as he is pierced by Edward's scissors and fell out of the window... Sounds familiar? Think Walt Disney's Beauty and the Beast, when Gaston lead the townfolks to "kill the Beast!". And well, the violent nature in the last part of the movie felt so wrong too, as compared to the earlier funny and charming (and later on, tragic) part... The conclusion is very unsatisfactory too, as there isn't any resolution to the story. The villain is awfully 2-dimensional too...
But 1 thing I noticed about the movie is how the crowd tends to villainize people bcuz of their oddity. For example, Michael Jackson. OK, I admit, he is one WEIRD guy, but I'm stupefied at how easily ppl believe all the "news" about him being a pedophile. Right... So many years have passed and no one mention anything about that, and now that his face is falling apart and he's facing bankcruptcy, bang! Pedophile! Child Abuse! Lawsuits! and all kinds of headlines start to appear. I sincerely doubted if any of the claims are real, and I think that wat these "victims" are trying to do is juz to squeeze money out of poor MJ. And ppl believe the "news" so easily eventhough there's no concrete proof at all for all the lawsuits! People these days... Sigh... I guess there aren't many ppl who sympathise Wacko Jacko, but I for one really pity him for all the slanders that are thrown against him...
Anyway, I wanna thank all my friends that have recommended me this movie. Though I agree with Christabel's comment that it's not worth buying the DVD, I'm still glad I've finally get to watch this much-talked-about movie. Not to mention that I'm really looking forward to more Johnny Depp movie in the future! >=)

ADDICTED OVER CATAN
I went to IMU in hope that I'll enjoy the orientation by watching the poor juniors kena ragging... But I ended up playing Settlers of Catan almost the whole time I'm in IMU!!! That's how's seriously addictive the game is!!! I can't stop thinking bout the game now... Man Wednesday seems so long away... Who cares about orientations... I want my game of Catan!!!
On the other hand, here's 1 thing I noticed when I observe the juniors in their cross-dressing costumes. While guys look horrible in skirts (the guys in pinafore appeared so awkward in it!), they almost look normal in non-skirt type of female wear, such as cheongsam and sari. Perhaps if some designers will come up with modified versions of such "dress", guys will start wearing them one day... Who knows? >=)
*11 hours later*
Juz woke up from my sleep... Have been dreaming about Settlers of Catan... OK, this is freaky...

ACCIDENTS UPON ACCIDENTS...
And now, not 1 month after the 2nd incident, another accident occured... Heard the news while I was having my breakfast. Yet another worker got his hand crushed by the machine. I felt so sick... There have been only a few accidents after my dad started his factory about 5 years ago, and now, in the short span of 2 months, 3 grievious injuries have occurred!!! And worse... this time, nothing can be done to save his hand... I'm not very clear about the details, since my parents are juz too depressed to talk about it... But I heard that he lost all 5 fingers on 1 of his hand... Sigh...
Something really need to be done with the machines... It's really saddening and disturbing to know that so many have suffered permanently for their injuries. Heck, even my dad almost got his hand crushed once, but thank God that the machine was switched off in time. Still, that scar remains on his hand till this day... Well, I'll discuss with my parents when they're in a better mood... They dun seemed to wanna talk about it now...
MEETING WITH SENIORS
Matt brought his newly bought Settlers of Catan boardgame to IMU today. Man it's 1 of the most gorgeously-designed board game I've seen! And we were seriously having fun then! Definitely gonna play that again next week!!! But then again, the OOs will probably be too busy then... Well see how leh... I was so close to winning today... Argh, I've nv win that game even once yet so far!!! Seriously need to bug Matt to bring it again next week! That game is damn cool!
