The Burden of Intelligence

Intelligence is a burden. Blessed with a higher intelligence, one still has to among the average Joes, and playing the game at their level in this world. As much as he realizes that morons surround and suffocate him, he have to live with it, for society consists mostly of such.

It's annoying when the majority are idiots. Makes life so unnecessarily difficult for an intelligent person to play along with their silly games. No wonder most eccentrics are geniuses of sorts: play your game a bit different, and people will cry foul and make a laughing stock out of you.

Perhaps segregating society into their respective intelligence level is a good idea... Let the peasents govern themselves, while intellectuals can form and shape a more enlightened future for themselves...

Man I'm such a fantasizing elitist... >=)

poor kid. the first sentence is a fragment.

Yup that's pure intellectual elitism right there.

Yes, perhaps a segregated society would be a good thing.

On the other hand, maybe Capitalism is, after all, a good thing. Learn to live on their ignorance. Key word: Advertising.

This is quite douche-y of you.

I agree with a couple of your points, but you seem rather arrogant. Remember that arrogance is the downfall of even the most intelligent people throughout history. I can't help but agree however that a segregated society reminiscent of "Brave New World" does sound attractive at times.

You have delusions of granduer in your level of intelligence... you have poor grammar and spelling so your intelligence is very narrow. Sadly, you seem to have the ability to think on a higher level, but poor grammar (absence of verbs/subject verb agreement issues) and spelling mistakes discredit your seemingly intelligent thinking.

The first sentence is not a fragment. The second sentence, however, is missing the word "live" (or any other appropriate substitute for that matter). Switching from saying intelligence was a burden to a blessing was his biggest blunder.

This is terribly arrogant though. The whole entry makes out to offend others instead of discussing something more important. You are right about being an elitist at least, but you may have a way to go before you will ever actually be the better person in any regard.

I'm sorry if this sounds corny, but love has a much higher importance than intelligence. Between you and a kind stupid person, I would rather be around the stupid person. What is interesting is what someone said earlier about Capitalism. The corporate elitists of this world who greedily pursue their goals are very intelligent individuals, but they haven't got any love. It sounds a lot like you.

I would much rather be with an intelligent elitist than a loving moron. The moron will either willingly or unwillingly destroy you.

Intelligence is a burden. I would say one of the worst burdens one can have. No one encourages people of higher intellect as would talented dancers, musicians, painters, soccer players. Instead, they try to discourage.

The reason being that these 'idiots' are dumb intellectually. Intelligence is something that unfortunately, in many ways, is a born ability. Intelligence is something that the idiots can only dream of having. Of course, perfection can come with practice in sport, music, etc. Intelligence may be something that can take practice and practice, but can't be achieved.

These idiots would rather be seen as naughty than dumb. They try to put the higher intellectually functioning people down, to feel better.

On the reverse side, many powerful leaders have gone through the same things intellectuals go through. These idiots may prepare the intellectuals. The intellectuals win if they choose to handle situations maturely, and dumbos lose. After all, they can't achieve true success and happiness in life with their disrespectful behaviour.

"The more loving you are, the more intelligent you become" -Keisha Crowther

It's easy to "know" things, in the sense that you can easily say "I know that". It is easy to say that you know, and believe that you know, and it is thus quite easy to convince yourself that you know more than you do. Yet, there are ALWAYS more perspectives, and nobody could know them all. That is like imagining you're God.

THIS is the bliss of ignorance: NOT knowing the full magnitude of what is NOT known, and thus delighting in how much IS known. The trouble with ignorance, however, is the common pitfall of conceitedness. One becomes arrogant about the little one does know, believing it to be much greater that it is. But compared to what?

Speaking of what you do not know, let's look at the first sentence you wrote. "Intelligence is a burden. Blessed with a higher intelligence, one still has to among the average Joes, and playing the game at their level in this world. As much as he realizes that morons surround and suffocate him, he have to live with it, for society consists mostly of such."

This is what it sounded like to me:
"Intelligence is a burden. Blessed with a higher intelligence, I still have to be amongst the average Joe's. In this world, I must play the game at their level. As much as I realize that morons surround and suffocate me, I have to live with it, for society mostly consists of idiots."

Aside from your apparently poor aptitude of the written English language, I feel it is important to remind you of the power of words. Speak for yourself, not for others. Take ownership of your opinions. Please don't make generalizations about the world based on your personal beliefs, and please don't impose those beliefs on others. The TRUTH is, amigo, that every single last one of us humans is a complete and utter fool, when you compare the capabilities of our little flesh bodies to the infinite scale of the Universe.

Intelligence comes more often when you learn how to INTEGRATE your head and your heart. And at that point, the burden of life is lifted much more frequently. After all, life is a tragedy to those who think, and a comedy to those who feel.

Think about it, and feel it out. Simultaneously.

I agree. You make some good points there, but remember that arrogance can make you ignorant and close minded. Many intelligent people fall into that trap. They indulge themselves in their bright mind to the point where all their opinions and view on the world becomes stagnant and irrelevant.

You can't spell, or formulate complete sentences. How "intelligent" can you actually be?

I searched for "the burden of intelligence" and found this post of yours. Sadly I knew full-well the response I'd then be reading below. The cattle of this world just love to call us arrogant because we can think at a much higher level than they. They will criticize things such as your poor grammar because they are stupid and equate correct and artificial language RULES as being smart. These cattle are more persuaded by stupid arguments written in perfect English than perfect arguments written in poor English. Perhaps the writer's first language is not English. Could an intelligentsia from India, whom doesn't speak any English, be considered stupid because of it? Ludicrous. It is though important to love, and that is something we Mensa-level individuals have such trouble with and something we need to be cognizant of and work on. And truly, sharing this kind of thought with the cattle will not produce even a remotely positive response. It's taken you 5 years to get this one! I encourage you to focus your energies on helping the cattle be free. RIght now there's many of us that are trying to dominate the cattle. This is something we can stop. We see what's going on. There's no need to take advantage of the cattle, rather we should help wake them up. Loving the cattle can be hard, but that's what we're good at, challenges. Again though, trust me, airing your thoughts like this will only get you labelled as arrogant. Very very few appreciate just how riadicuslouy burdensome being intelligent is. How tiring and frustrating it is. How it can sometimes even make you feel suicidal. We must though treat the sheep with love, always, always. Gandhi & Jesus mastered this well, and so must we.

Take a lesson from Brave New World
You can't reach the Betas. Programming is too strong for feeble minds to overcome. For instance, Hilter was so horribly wrong because he committed genocide. Yes, but Genocide is ongoing in Africa, in the Congo, it happened when Zimbabwe gained independence it is all over the continent. Slavery exists in Africa and Asia too. But its bad when white people do it. That's the message I'm getting from all this.

When I stopped accepting all I had been taught and started evaulating it, the formulation of thought taught to me my whole life that I danced merrily upon shattered and sent me freefalling. School doesn't teach you how to think, but what to think.

If you want to start the journey to the top of the world I will not show you the way but I will say, it is cold and lonely at the top of the world.
